About me
Background and approach
After graduating with a music degree in 1990, I spent five years working in music publishing, arts administration, concert management and recording. I later raised three sons while working part-time leading pre-school music sessions and teaching class music and singing in primary schools. In 2018, I completed a two-year master’s training in music therapy with Nordoff and Robbins, the UK’s largest music therapy charity.
I passionately believe playing and singing together can transform lives by reducing isolation caused by illness or circumstance. As a music therapist, I listen closely to draw out clients’ deeply rooted musical responses, often hidden beneath the surface, and I especially enjoy working with families and organisations to bring this approach to those they support.
