Unlock hidden potential in creative and accessible music-making

How can music therapy help?
- Making music together alongside another person or a group of people enables us to express ourselves when spoken words are either not enough, or not possible.
- Often, we discover expressive ability that we never knew we had.
- It is always stimulating and often empowering, especially for people that experience limitation in their lives, whether that is physical, mental or emotional.
- We can connect or re-connect to who we are.
- The greater sense of wellbeing experienced in music can impact life beyond the sessions.
What I do
I am trained* in the Nordoff Robbins approach to music therapy, often referred to as “music-centred” or “creative music therapy”.
This means I work within the music, not as a talking therapist. I strongly believe that everybody has in-built musicality, which enables each person to make music however they can. I listen closely and we play together, going wherever the music takes us.
As this relationship develops, new musical opportunities and challenges may arise, which I can guide and support.

What people say about music therapy with Hannah
"Hannah is amazing, she helped my mum through her last months of Alzheimer’s and I couldn’t have hoped for a more gentle, wonderful person with so much talent and empathy."
“Hannah’s music therapy was such a gift to our son... ‘Music with Hannah’ was a safe and happy place for him where he could express himself as fully (and loudly!) as he liked. We think that it has helped him to deal with some of the daily frustrations he encounters as well as to learn through sharing in a reciprocal and fun encounter.”
“It’s given me positive vibes”... “I feel like a kid again!”... “It gave me a boost”.
“He has tremendously opened up and is now trying to communicate and sing whenever he gets a chance... you really open up communication and bring so much joy to young special people.”
